IPPO personnel undergo seminar on prisoner management

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA. BARBARA, ILOILO, February 1---In an effort to familiarize the personnel of Iloilo Police Provincial Office in the proper management of detainees and prisoners, IPPO tapped the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in conducting a Seminar on Management of Detention Facilities and Proper Handling of Detainees. 

Jail Superintendent Gilbert Peremne, former Regional Chief of Staff of BJMP 6 was tapped to discuss the handling of security, and on how to maintain cleanliness and integrity of the jail facilities. 

He also discussed the different procedures in admission of personnel and developmental programs including counselling and other behavioural interventions. 

Meanwhile, Jail Inspector Abner Zamora, Jail Warden of Iloilo District Jail discussed several issues and concerns on the commitment of inmates and serving of warrants of arrests to already detained inmates.

The seminar was initiated by IPPO OIC Police Senior Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba following the recent escape of a detainee at Ajuy and Alimodian Police Station lock-up cells. 

The City/ Municipal Executive Senior Police Officers of the 43 police stations of IPPO attended the said seminar on Friday, January 29.
