Reverse “Daigon” (Carolling)

Christmas is a season of celebration of the birth of our savior Jesus Christ and Iloilo Police Provincial Office believes that this is also the time of sharing and to let our less fortunate family feels that  PNP cares and wants to share their blessings to them. This is why IPPO headed by our Provincial Director PSSUPT Cornelio Rentoy Salinas initiated the “Reverse Daigon” activity.

Reverse Daigon is an activity where selected Indigent families in selected towns of the Province of Iloilo will be serenaded with Christmas songs by our very own choir composed of IPPO personnel. Instead of the usual “Daigon” where the household should give any amount to the carolers, the household that were serenaded will be given gift packs so that they will have food for their “nochebuena”.  Aside from the gift packs, members of the family will also be given the famous “Jollibee” chickenjoy and burger that most children always wanted.

This activity started last December 2013 and because of the happiness that we saw from the smiles and the eyes of every family that we have visited, we again conducted same activity last December 5-7, 2014. IPPO under the leadership of PSSUPT CORNELIO RENTOY SALINAS, PD IPPO together with Staff and personnel of IPPO conducted Reverse Daigon for two days for the selected Indigent Families of 1st. 2nd, 3rd and 4th District of Iloilo with twenty-four (24)selected less fortunate/indigent families in Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Leon, Alimodian, Leganes, Janiuay, Lambunao, Calinog, Passi, Dueñas and Dingle, Iloilo. Each family were given food and grocery packs for their “Noche Buena” and each family is a recipient of a Christmas Lantern from the IPPO Parol Peacetival.

Through the support from LGUs and Chiefs of Police, IPPO “Reverse Daigon” is considered a success.  Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) aims to continue to bring joy and the spirit of Christmas in the coming yuletide seasons.
