New Lucena conducts second IRAID

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA. BARBARA, ILOILO, August 26 -- Once again, New Lucena Municipal Police Station proves that never runs out of initiatives for the anti-illegal drugs campaign of its municipality.

New Lucena Municipal Police Station recently held Ilonggos Run Against Illegal Drugs Year 2, this time with a fresh twist featuring colored powder for the runners.

RAID 2 COLORS was held early last August 21, 2015 in what appears to be an annual event after the Local Government Unit of New Lucena led by Hon. Mayor Liecel Seville passed an ordinance “Declaring every August 21 as Run Against Illegal Drugs (RAID) Day in New Lucena” and making that day a special non-working holiday.

More than 500 runners joined the RAID 2 COLORS composed of representatives from the different sectors, IPPO officers, Lady Cops Association of Iloilo, Non-Uniformed Personnel and members of the Local Government Unit.

Police Regional Office 6 Director Police Chief Superintendent Bernardo A. Diaz was represented by IPPO’s Deputy Provincial Director for Administration Police Superintendent Norberto B. Delmas.

IRAID is part of IPPO’s OPLAN WALIS DROGA initiative, a barangay-based drug clearing operation.#
