IPPO scores anew against drug peddlers

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA. BARBARA, ILOILO, May 3 -- An estimated .5 Million worth of suspected shabu is recovered by IPPO personnel from two suspected drug couriers in Oton, Iloilo.

IPPO’s Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) led by Police Senior Inspector John Ryan Doceo effected the arrest after conducting a buybust operation against subjects Reymond Rivera, 32 years old and Smith Sande, 24 years old both residents of Brgy. Calaparan, Arevalo.

The operation was implemented at around 1:30 p.m. of May 2, 2016 at Brgy. San Antonio, Oton.

Recovered from the possession of the two subjects are 16 sachets of suspected shabu valued at more or less 500,000 pesos, marked money and cellphones.

Police believe that the two are merely couriers who get their supply from Iloilo City and distribute the same to clients in the First and Second Districts of Iloilo Province.

The two are currently detained at Oton MPS and are facing charges for violation of RA 9165.#
