IPPO neutralizes notorious criminal gang leader

     Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay Sr, STA. BARBARA, Iloilo, March 11--A successful operation by combined units of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) caused the arrest of notorious criminal gang leader Lodgen “Buro” Casas Prion at the Jelicuon village of Cabatuan town.

     Prion, 40 years old, and his two cohorts 29-year old Brian “Boyboy” Serra Leung of  Jelicuon, Cabatuan and 34-year old Joel “Bonbon” Aranduque Cellarbo of Linaywan, Badiangan, Iloilo were arrested following a buy bust operation conducted by the composite team of the IPPO on March 11, 2015.

     Authorities recovered from their possession 32 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 2.9 grams with street value of P90,000.00; cash amounting to  P1, 140.00; buy bust money and other drug paraphernalias. 

     Consequently, Cellarbo was charged for violation of visiting drug den while Leung and Prion were charged for violation of selling of illegal drugs, maintaining drug den, possession of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and conspiracy in selling under Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 

     Prion was the leader of the Prion Criminal Gang responsible for robbery hold-up, cattle rustling, gun-for-hire and illegal drug trade activities in Iloilo province especially, in the third district. 

     He was also listed as one of the Most Wanted Persons in the province but was temporarily out on bail for his previous cases.

      The operating team was composed of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), Explosive Ordinance Division–Special Weapon and Tactics (EOD-SWAT, Cabatuan Municipal Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Branch of the IPPO. (30)
