Five arrested, including siblings in Pototan drug bust

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA. BARBARA, ILOILO, December 16 -- IPPO’s Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and Pototan MPS arrested five siblings in a onetime, bigtime operation on Wednesday, December 16. 

The operation was conducted at 12:30 p.m. in Brgy. Catoogan, Pototan where police arrested Ray Jara alias “Cabo”, 50 years ols and Pototan’s Number 1 drug personality, his brother Ruvilito Jara, 44 years old, of Brgy. Alimono, Passi City, Rodney Dumdumaya, 21 years old, of Brgy. Catoogan, Pototan, Jessie Beroga, 46 years old of Brgy. 9, Sto. Nino, Cotabato and one minor. 

The subject of the operation, Rolly Trabado, Iloilo’s Number 7 drug personality managed to evade the police operatives. 

Recovered from the possession of the arrested are nine (9) sachets of suspected shabu, one KG submachine gun, one Smith and Weeson .357 revolver, one .9 mm caliber pistol, live ammunition, cash and assorted drug paraphernalia. 

IPPO OIC Police Senior Superintendent Roderick Agaustus Alba lauded the efforts of PAIDSOTG and Pototan MPS and vowed to sustain his thrust against anti-illegal drugs in the province. 

“This is just one of the many operations against illegal drugs that we will launch as we are one with the anti-criminality drive of the Provincial Government of Iloilo,” Alba said. 

The arrested are presently detained at Pototan MPS and are facing charges for violation of RA 9165. 

The operation conducted by IPPO’s operatives is part of Oplan Lambat Sibat program of PNP and PRO6’ onetime, bigtime operation.
