Wounded police chief aided, family of killed PO1 to be assisted

            Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, April 15 -- Iloilo Police Provincial Office immediately delivered financial assistance to wounded Chief of Police who suffered several stab wounds while responding to a call-up Tuesday dawn while the assistance to the family of the killed PO1 is being arranged.

            IPPO Director Police Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas immediately ordered IPPO Human Resource Development Officer Police Senior Inspector Janelo Gepana together with Finance Officer SPO4 Norman Espina to proceed to Iloilo Mission Hospital to deliver the initial financial assistance to Police Senior Inspector Ariel Corcino, Pototan Chief of Police, who was wounded during a call-up at Brgy. Naslo, Pototan, Iloilo.

            IPPO will also provide financial assistance to the family of killed PO1 Dan Carlsberg Bayogos.

            Corcino, together with his men including Bayogos, reported to a call-up at the Agravante Family compound at Brgy. Naslo, Pototan, Iloilo.

            They barely got out of their vehicles when all of a sudden, suspect Arnold Daguhoy y Biñas, 42 years of the same barangay, attacked PO1 Bayogos with a bladed weapon hitting him on his left chest and stomach.

            Captain Corcino came to his rescue but was also stabbed in the stomach prompting him to draw his firearm and shoot the suspect who was hit at the back portion of his body.

            All three were brought to Iloilo Provincial Hospital where PO1 Bayogos was declared Dead On Arrival while suspect Daguhoy died a few hours later.

            Corcino was transferred to Iloilo Mission Hospital and is currently undergoing medical treatment.(#)
