PRO6, IPPO join Iloilo 5th District Peace and Order Summit

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA. BARBARA, ILOILO,October 23Police Regional Office 6 and Iloilo Police Provincial Office joined the Office of 5th district Congressman Raul Tupas in spearheading the Peace and Order Summit covering the 11 towns of the 5th district of Iloilo. 

The event, held at San Dionisio, Iloilo was attended by all the Municipal Mayors, Vice Mayors, SP Members who are chair the Committee on Peace and Order of their respective towns, Liga ng mga Barangay Presidents, MLGOOs and Chiefs of Police. 

DILG Undersecretary Jesus Hinlo was invited as one of the resource speakers during the ensuing dialogue. 

Iloilo PPO Provincial Director, Police Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba who presented the actual peace and order situation of the 5th district giving special focus on the proliferation of armed groups in some of the towns, called on the local leaders and other stakeholders to take the campaign against crime seriously as it will greatly affect the development in their area.           

“We have presented the actual situation in the 5th district. We rely now on the cooperation of everybody to address them”, Tayaba said. 

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 6 Director Police Chief Superintendent Caesar Hawthorne Binag promised the local leaders that the PNP will re-channel its resources to the 5th district in order to address the peace and order concerns. 

The summit was highlighted by the signing of the Pledge of Commitment in support of PNP’s campaign against crime.
