Mina’s 22 barangays declared as drug-free

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA. BARBARA, ILOILO, June 20 - After several months of intense validation, all the 22 barangays of the municipality of Mina, Iloilo was declared as drug-free in a ceremony led by the PNP, PDEA, DILG and DO.

The ceremony was attended by no less than the Regional Director of Police Regional 6, Police Chie Superintendent John C. Bulalacao together with Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent Marlon A. Tayaba, Thessa Albano, Asst. Regional Director of PDEA, Region VI, Hon Arthur Defensor Jr., Congressman of 3rd District of Iloilo, Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III, Regional Director of DILG, Dr. Marlyn W. Convocar, CESO III, Regional Director of Department of Health, Hon. Lorenz Defensor, Board Member, 3rd District of Iloilo.

The ceremony was preceded by the blessing and inauguration Mina PNP’s new mess-hall and barracks which was constructed through the funds of the local government unit.

Mina PNP, under the leadership of Police Senior Inspector Ma. Theresa G. Lero, has enjoyed considerable support from the LGU since she assumed office last year.

The ceremony was attended by barangay officials, BADAC members, teachers, students and Mina’s drug surrenderees.
