Lifebank Foundation to donate 2.1 million facility to IPPO

Camp Francisco U. Sumagaysay, Sr., STA BARBARA, ILOILO, May 24 -- A 2.1 M facility will soon rise at Iloilo Police Provincial Office courtesy of Lifebank Foundation Incorporated headed by Dr. Vincent Perlas.

In a recently concluded Board of Directors meeting of the foundation, the Board approved the construction of a building which will house the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and barracks for the on duty male Police Non-Commissioned Officers(PNCOs) of IPPO.

The decision was reached after members of the Board conducted an ocular inspection of the current site and witnessed for themselves the sorry state of the sleeping quarters of the personnel.

Dr. Perlas, a member of the Provincial Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development (PAC-PTD) of IPPO, realized the need for a respectable billeting area for police officers rendering duty at IPPO and together with Ret. Police Senior Superintendent Roberto Nufable, also a member of PAC-PTD, pushed for the construction of a new building.

Currently, SWAT and the Camp Guards occupy a decrepit building just inside the camp gates, a far cry from the ideal building to house such an elite unit of the PNP.

The soon-to-rise building will feature a separate area for the SWAT, a sleeping area for on-duty personnel, a kitchen, shower and locker rooms and a common lobby to receive visitors.

Aside from the construction of a new building, Lifebank Foundation Inc, has also donated 500 thousand pesos worth of Police Assistance Trailers for the Rule of Law (P.A.T.R.O.L.) Van to IPPO.

IPPO Director Police Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas is overwhelmed at the generosity of Lifebank Foundation Inc. and the Perlas family and vowed to push towards a more motivated police service for the province of Iloilo.
